ADAMA Transforming its Safety Culture and Employee Well-being Worldwide

Plan aims for long-term, comprehensive cultural shift

ADAMA Ltd. (SZSE 000553), a leading crop protection company, revealed its long-term strategy to strengthen the safety and well-being of all its employees across all operational sites worldwide. The objective of this initiative is to improve safety performance and promote the overall health of ADAMA’s people through the implementation of a comprehensive cultural transformation program. To this end, ADAMA has partnered with JMJ, a global consulting firm specializing in the transformation management of safety, sustainability, and performance cultures, to conduct a series of workshops for employees at all levels.

This cultural shift is also expected to positively impact other areas of the company, including productivity and employee engagement.”

Based on the findings from a cross-organization survey and interviews conducted with employees in various roles and locations, JMJ has prepared a multi-year global safety cultural transformation plan. Starting in July, a series of workshops for leaders, managers, and employees at all levels of the organization will be rolled out. These workshops will cover topics such as enhancing management involvement in safety practices at all levels, increasing reporting & openness, and focusing on leading versus lagging indicators. 

“Typically, organizations invest heavily in safety measures and cultural transformation following a crisis, but we don’t want to wait for that to happen,” said David Katz, Head of Global Safety and Health at ADAMA. “We chose to drive a hands-on cultural transformation that will protect our employees’ safety and well-being, ensuring that harm is prevented from affecting any of our people.”

Throughout 2024, ADAMA will conduct five regional workshops and 14 additional workshops at specific production sites, while continuing to provide coaching to its management as needed to support and encourage this long-term change.
